The scheme below depicts one example of how you could acquire the required 18 ECTS during the four years of your PhD. This is only one of many possible ways, but it should give you an idea how you can structure your course work and fulfill the curriculum requirements. For details on courses and requirements, see PhD Program Curriculum.

This scheme illustrates one example of how you could acquire the required 18 ECTS during the four years of your PhD. In Module A, all courses are compulsory and result in a total of 6 ECTS, which includes a contribution to the DUW Symposium with a poster or talk at least once during your PhD. In Module B, at least 6 ECTS are required, where at least 4 ECTS must be acquired via discipline or cross-discipline specific courses, and at least 1 ECTS must be acquired via a contribution (talk or poster) at a scientific event, such as a conference, symposium or workshop. In Module C, at least 3 ECTS credits are required, with at least 2 ECTS to be acquired through courses on transferable skills. Note that certain courses are only offered in the autumn or spring semester (see PhD Program Curriculum for details).
